the very first recording of The Nihilist Spasm Band as included with the August/September 1967 issue of ArtCanada magazine. this big double issue on art of southwest Ontario includes a big article (with many photos) on Nihilist Spasm Band as well as other coverage of new art (well, new in 1967) of southwest Ontario. the flexi disc features "The sweetest country this side of heaven" by The Nihilist Spasm Band on one side with John Chambers reading his poem "Fire" on the flip side. this is the first release by NSB and predates their Allied LP, and seems to be even more obscure than that album. this item was referenced in the Nihilist Spasm Documentary film "What About Me?". | |
